Hello.

I have decided that my new best friend is my wonderfully warm and amazing faux fur vest. (You know, the one that my cousin randomly pets and calls "Beowulf II) That thing is seriously a lifesaver.

Also, I MISS MY SIBLINGS!!! Especially A.C. and Ben. I can hardly survive without my army of followers. :(

And also also, I'm really about to die about my job. Who knew you had to know so much in order to work a cash register at an Asian restaurant?

And also also also, I've seemed to lose interest in drawing. Again. It's really quite bizarre...

Fifteen

Well, for my fifteenth birthday I got to eat lunch at the best pizza place on the planet. I was also told that I'm starting my job on... Friday... I think. So I went to the place and was told everything I have to do every day on time. It's scary and a little weird, and I wrote so many notes it's crazy.

Anyways, we went to the library (Best. Place. EVER!) and got a ton of movies/TV shows. One of these movies was Pixar's Cars which, although it's a good movie, gets seriously annoying about the 20th time your two-year-old brother insists on watching it. Honestly, if i have to hear ONE MORE mention of Lightning McQueen or Radiator Springs or Doc Hudson, I'm gonna lie down and die.

Well, that's all, folks. I think. ;)

Happy [day formerly known as my] Birthday!

Well, I changed my birthday to September (please, don't ask ;D) so today is now called the "day formerly known as Chloe's birthday". This means that TECHNICALLY I'm now fifteen years old. YEAH!

Unfortunately, this means I'm getting a job. I'm gonna be working with my dad in the aforementioned Asian restaurant. **shrugs**

Anyway, I guess I better continue my tradition of writing fifteen random facts about me.... hmmm....
  1. My favorite color is pink.
  2. I love watching murder mysteries and listening to Agatha Christie.
  3. If I don't finish a drawing in 1-2 hours, I almost NEVER finish it.
  4. If I want to get my sister hooked on a book, I follow her around the house reading it as loud as humanly possible.
  5. I randomly come up with story plots for fun.
  6. I'm fascinated by airplanes and airports. They. Are. So. COOL!!! I could literally walk around a busy airport for hours, and sit in a plane for just as long. (granted I get a window seat.)
  7. Every time my Nana comes, she brings several boxes of Ritz crackers and some chocolate syrup to make chocolate milk. She knows me well... those are two of my favorite things.
  8. I often randomly pretend to faint, die, get a migraine, zap people with LEP Recon lasers, and fight with a sword. I also randomly turn in circles, bounce in place, go completely stiff, and I yell, "HOP!" every time I get out of the computer chair.
  9. My sister and I often go through and list random mostly un-related things for fun. (Birds, Maximum Ride, Iggy, Sunglasses, Beach day, family reunion, Native Americans, etc. etc. etc.)
  10. My favorite word of all time is "giggles". I'm not sure why.
  11. The only person I know who reads faster than me is my cousin, Michaela. Mick and I sat in the same chair and read Artemis Fowl books 2, 3, 4, and 5 together in three days.
  12. I read almost an entire book (The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place) in a Barnes & Noble at my grandparent's house, then had to wait for months and months to read the very last chapter because both my bookstore and my library didn't have it.
  13. I'd never done a puzzle before, but last year when my mother was doing the taxes and all my siblings were at my Nana's house, I was really really bored so I went out and bought a puzzle that had 500 of those tiny pieces. I've been totally hooked on puzzles ever since. :)
  14. When bored, I sit down in my room and write notes on just about everything. (Well, not spaghetti, but I do have notes on Greek Pasta!!)
  15. And lastly, my favorite book of all time is still "Things People Do."

Well, the end. I'm gonna have to re-do this all in September. :O

SMALLVILLE!

... because I'm sure you want me to go even MORE bonkers over it.

Anyways, we finally finished watching the ninth season, and let me just say... it was strange. I was describing the ending to Kievan (who wasn't present for the finale) and my exact wording was, "And then Zod and the Kandorians were sucked up by happy little sunbeams and Clark fell off the building with a blue kryptonite knife." Kievan gave me this really weird look, then said, "Wait. Go back to the "happy little sunbeam" part.

This was the original casting for the first season of Smallville. It was kind of sad... of the people shown above, only Clark, his mom, and his friend Chloe are still in the show. **clicks tongue** It's even weirder when you think of all the people who died in the show.

ANYWAY. Hi.

I found the scanner!!! :D

Guess where the scanner was actually hiding? That's right.... right next to the computer.

No, not really. My dad found it and put it there. X) Here are some of my latest drawings...

See that background color? That's actually yellow. My scanner killed it. ANYHOO, this is a drawing of two kids playing chess. Yes.

Two people and a very very large dog. (You may recognize them from HERE... that's 'cause they're the same people.)

An elf I drew... this is her character sheet. I think I might name her Esme.... but I'm not really sure. Any suggestions?

TOONIE!! This is my friend Greta's dog... dressed up in plaid. XD

And finally, Beowulf! I was randomly doodling... this took me aprox. 4 seconds. XD
It's much smaller in real life.

A brief overview of my week...

Okay, here's my week in as few words as possible. Meaning, I'm about to talk your ears off.

My siblings numbers 3, 4, and 5 (a.k.a. Allie, Ben, and A.C.) are currently busy with my Grandparents over spring break. They are the noisy and mess-making kids in the house hold, so without them (and my dad, who's working at an Asian restaurant) it's been very.... boring. And insanely quiet.

Back to my dad. Since he lost his job, he's become a chef at this little Asian restaurant. This is ironic because my father does not have a single Asian bone in his body. Nevertheless, he's already been promoted to head chef (it's a very small restaurant) and is pretty much amazing at cooking sweet-and-sour chicken (with real sauce that has, like, pineapples and stuff in it! AWESOME!). Unfortunately, Poppy is gone at night, which means that he's not in the kitchen at dinnertime, listening to Maroon Five at full volume. It's quite depressing, actually.

Anyways, I spent more-or-less an entire day at my friend Greta's house which totally ROCKED!! I haven't spent a day at anyone's house for a while (excluding Shakespeare Club... which really doesn't last all that long.) so that trip was totally awesome and fun and everything. I just hope I didn't bore her too much. X)

We had book-club, too, and that was fun, because I got to go to the library. At the suggestion of my aforementioned friend Greta, I got this book called "Crash" by some guy who's name totally just escaped my memory. I read it that night (along with The Summer Before and The Girl Who Could Fly) and when I was finished I was all like, "Oh... Penn Webb reminds me of Stargirl." So THEN I found out it was written by the same person. I kinda felt like a fail there. ;)

We also got Smallville (season 9!) at the library, and stayed up till LITERALLY 3:30 watching it. We were somewhat surprised to find out that Clark started wearing a trench coat and Chloe [Sullivan] became a super-computer-genius, and also that although Johnathan Kent died (everyone's least favorite episode ever) Martha Kent seems to have dissolved into nothingness and nobody remembers anything about her. Anyways, we're totally addicted to it.

Kievan and I plotted (okay, had a series of really bizarre ideas about) this story. It currently sounds a lot like Maximum Ride, but we actually threw out a load of strange plot ideas just because they sounded too similar. It's about these super-villain kids and.... well, it'd just take an insane amount of time to explain it all. Let's just say... it's pretty weird. You can tell by their names... Jekyll Odysseus, Drew Paisley, Lucius "Lucy" Scorpion, Kryptonite "Mermaid" Ray, and THE SHADE. ;P

And to wrap it up, I'M FREEZING TO DEATH!

Oh, and yeah, happy Friday.

King Henry V and Jaws

Well, today was a good day at Shakespeare... we watched the movie King Henry V (you know, with Kenneth Branagh) and then ate vegetarian pizza (because it's Lent) and discussed the merits of good old-fashioned horror movies, like Jaws and its sequels. Which got us all talking about the movies and TV shows like Star Trek and Jurassic Park.

So all-in-all, it's been a pretty fun day. Good luck to my friend Greta, who's currently off doing something (not sure what) somewhere (not sure where) and my friend Charlotte who's currently playing basketball somewhere. (I'm not sure where.... ;P)

That dog.....

Beowulf the Porkie Yorkeranian has lately been a very.... disobedient rascal. It seems like every other second the Wulf has escaped the amazing sanctuary of my bedroom and is wreaking terror on the house. Ah, well, he probably just has spring fever... don't we all?

Raptoria :)

My latest online find has been THIS field guide on the Sequill of Raptoria. An artist found it while going through her old stuff-she did it when she was 13 years old. It reminded me of my Field Guide to Imagine Island that I drew when I was a younger. (I think I was 8..... that would've been almost 7 years ago!) Her guide is very descriptive, if not a little unbelievable. I greatly enjoyed it. :)

I'm gonna have to learn how to think up titles to go here, because I'm just seriously not good at it. It's very pitiful, really.

ANYWAYS! Have you ever noticed how after you plan a novel, you get like super duper excited about it? I just sat down and wrote down the entire (condensed) plot of my novel and my head in so happy that now I don't have to remember it all. XD

And now I'm soooo excited about it. Sadly, I'm currently in a sort of boring (to write) part of the novel, and I can't write the exciting (to write) part until later. Oh, well. ;)

I also had something else to write about, but I totally forgot what it was. Sorry. :(

RAWR

I made sweet tea, which is making me totally happyish. Even though I had to clean my little sister Allie's entire bedroom after I JUST CLEANED IT YESTERDAY! I honestly have absolutely no idea how on earth she manages to make such a disaster.

**sigh**

ANYHOO, I have sweet tea. And I am happy.

On a slightly different note, I'm extraordinarily excited about Percy Jackson again... especially book two. (The Sea of Monsters.) Why? Because I have to read The Odyssey in school and The Sea of Monsters is EXACTLY THE SAME, right down to the nitty-gritty details!! Like... like in The Odyssey, Hermes gives Odysseus this magic medicine that prevents Circe from turning him into a pig! Then, in the Sea of Monsters, Hermes gives Percy magic multi-vitamins that stops Circe from turning him into a guinea pig! I'm seriously overjoyed here! XD

Well...

Luckily for me (and, admittedly, my dog; who for some reason always gets depressed and sleeps in the closet when I get mad) I'm in a much much better mood... which can probably be attributed to the fact that my drawing ability has returned, and also the fact that my mother went shopping so I can actually EAT.

Anyways, the picture above is just a random doodle of Valentina and Hazel the Wolves... poor Hazel is always getting dragged around by his over-zealous friends. If Val REALLY wants Hazel to come to the candy shoppe, she should probably just ask.

Friday, March 11, 2011

Hear that? That's me sighing.

I'm not in a very good mood. This can easily be attributed to multiple things:
a.) I still can't draw,
b.) I haven't had the opportunity to go back to the library,
c.) I spent an entire day with the babies because
d.) We're having a garage sale because
e.) (most importantly) we're moving.

I hate hate hate hate moving. For crying out loud, it took me five (five FIVE FIVE!) years to make a handful of good friends. And only one (ONE) of those friends had me over to their house multiple times!!

I'm very upset, so I've been writing a lot in my journal. I love my journal, but I have a feeling that pretty soon it will be full, and I'll have to buy a new one. After all, I only have 20 pages left in the first place.

I'm rambling now, because it makes me feel better. Sorry about that. I'm just, well.... I need some chocolate milk. And I need to go to the library. That will definitely make me feel better, so if anyone has book ideas, I'll be 100% willing to hear them.

If I'm not on Blogger for a while, you'll know why. **sighs**

No talking!

This is one of my absolute favorite books. I've read it twice so far... and both times, I loved it.

In fact, I loved it so much the first time I read it, that when I went to my grandparent's house (a good two-day trip away) I told my cousin Michaela about it, and found out that she'd read it too, and also loved it. So the day that we went to a science museum together, we decided to conduct an experiment of our own. We spent the entire day at the museum without talking to each other. (Okay, we slipped a couple of times, but for the most part, we didn't talk.) We had to make up hand motions for the things we said the most... most notably "epic fail". I wrote notes, and we giggled and poked each other a lot. It was my sister's mission to make us fail, and so she kept on asking us totally weird questions or distracted us or chattered aimlessly. We all had a load of fun. :)

Anyways, there's my slightly deranged rant for the day. Have a happy Thursday. :D

Artist

Lately I've been somewhat artistically challenged. I's not that I can't draw... I just can't think of anything TO draw. It's unbelievably frustrating, and I'm feeling sort of upset and moody because of it. (and the fact that there's absolutely positively no food in the entire house.)

To try to get rid of at least a little boredom, I drew this picture using DeviantART's dA Muro which is really a very useful tool. Sadly, I'm still pretty frustrated... but I like the way that the artist in my picture turned out. Sadly, you can't resize stuff on dA Muro, and I didn't know what I was drawing until it was too late, so my artist has her painting arm cut off.

Anyways, hopefully I will be getting my creativity back very very soon, but somehow I kinda doubt it. **sighs**

more insane happiness.

I gotta hand it to Greta, she really really knows how to make my day. :)
So here is the character Zevi Thomson (created by my totally bonkers sister and me) who has the ability to talk to animals. She did it for me for quote, "being an epic friend", end quote. What that means, I have literally no idea, but the picture makes me happy enough that I don't really need to know. ;)

More doodles...

Well, I'm afraid I'm stuck on "insane, about to die 'cause of all the winteryness" mode, so I read the 4rth "39 Clues" book and doodled a lot. Here's a select few of my doodles... the rest have yet to be finished and scanned. :D

This one was drawn for my friend Greta, whom I've mentioned multiple times. It's her character Selena, who's really into astronomy. Greta really really liked my other ink picture (as did everybody else on my Facebook Page... go figure) so I did more black and white.

And here's another person of mine.... she's a minor character in one of my stories. She's named Eleven Conway (Yup, like the number) and she's deaf. She's one of my favorite characters, just because she's so.... colorful. Seriously, the scanner dulled the actual colorfulness. ;)

Also, I've been working very hard on my story. I re-wrote prologue, part two, for the fourth time, officially making it the most edited thing I've ever written. ;)

Fish-Bird

My art teacher is having yet another Facebook art contest, and this time we were supposed to draw a creature made up of a bird and a fish. Unfortunately, fish and birds are my two least favorite things to draw, but I actually had fun anyway. This is my fish-bird, he's a (very happy) blue jay/spearfish mix. The pictures below are the ones I used to help draw it. :D

Books books books books books!

Well, lately I have been in a reading mood. So naturally, yesterday I went to the library and got just about every book there.

Since then I've read the 39 Clues books 1-3 (Maze of Bones, One Wrong Note, and the Sword Thief) and I've gotta say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! Each of the books are written by a different author, and I think it's really neat to see how they all have slightly different styles. Also, I love the character Dan, but all of the other characters are also so amazing it's obnoxious. I like all of them, from the Cobras to Saladin the cat. It just really makes me excited.

I've also re-read Sharon Draper's "Out of my Mind", about a girl who has cerebral palsy. I love that book too... it's so bittersweet.

I ALSO re-read E. L. Konigsburg's "The View from Saturday". I also love this book, which I randomly picked up in a bookstore and started reading, and ended up just having to finish. This book also sports amazing characters, which is good, because it actually doesn't have that much of a plot. This book is probably going to end up on my "favorites" list, simply because I love the chapter about Ethan Potter so much. :D

And last but probably not least, I read one of the books in the Red Rock Mystery Series.... "the Hollywood Holdup", it's called. I love the Red Rock mysteries (in fact, I love just about all mysteries) but the one killer about the series is the ending. Warning: you may want to skip the last book.

So that's what's up.... I may die from boredom sometime soon. I really need to find a good audio-book and do a puzzle.... got any ideas of what I should listen to?

Happy... well, just plain ol' happy day. ^^

Interesting thing I learned about myself? I like to draw Valentine's Day scenes. Which explains this slightly random winter scene that I drew... I call it "Happy Valentin Day"... which is actually a very bad pun on the guy's name, which happens to be "Valentin", which happens to be one small letter away from the name "Valentine".

ANYWAYS have a happy un-valentine's day, and check up on New Dress a Day lady HERE..... even though her year of dress making is done, she's still doing some pretty awesome clothes remodeling. :)
