Nest Eggs

Here in the fork

The brown nest is seated;

Four little eggs

The mother keeps heated.

While we stand watching her

Staring like gabies,

Safe in each egg are the

Bird's little babies.

Soon the frail eggs they shall

Chip, and upspringing

Make all the April woods

Merry with singing.

~(excerpt "Nest Eggs") Robert Louis Stevenson

Zonkey

Isn't that a cute little hybrid? His name is Zonkey :)

A Random Quote

"If the whole universe had no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe, and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be without meaning."

~C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

Some of my Drawings

First, a pen picture of a zebra centaur. She is supposed to be African-American, but you can't really tell. The stripes took me ages!

I have been quite obsessed with griphons lately, and this is a very quickly drawn one in crayon. As you can tell, his wings aren't finished yet, and I forgot to give him a beak. Oh, well.

A four-headed dragon I drew a couple of years ago, I was quite interested in multiple-headed dragons at that time.
Another dragon, drawn a couple of weeks ago. Pencil, crayon, and colored pencil. I call her "Cascade" as she is obviously breed "Aqua Dragon" ;)

Another dragon. My last, which was drawn on the same day as that four-headed one. Not a true dragon breed. lives underwater. I like it :)

Some of my Drawings

Sorry I haven't posted in a loooooong time.
I have no good reason :(
I'll try to make it up to you by posting a lot of pictures!

Pictures (more coming soon!)

Anna Claire found it necessary to take off her shoes while splashing in some water.

Recently Allie and Ben have taken to climbing on this tiny tree. No limbs (human or otherwise) broken yet!

Our ugly black tortoise shell cat had kittens! We named them after greek goddesses, Athena and Aphrodite (larger one)!
(sorry about the lousy pictures. My camera wasn't working well without the flash!)

Here is Allie, showing off the entrance to "The Secret Garden".

Allie, Ben, and Poppy have been working in the garden a lot lately!

Here is Anna Claire, "helping" people garden.

Well, more pictures are on the way!!!

Great Book:

Read the Mysterious Benedict Society!
It's an excellent book about a group of children (Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance) who must save the world from evil Dr. Curtain. This excellent book has an interesting plot and interesting, friendly (except maybe for Constance) characters. Five stars!

a C. S. Lewis veiw of Heaven

(Describing the fruit of heaven)

"What was the fruit like? Unfortuntley, no one can describe the taste. All I can say is that when compared to those fruits, the freshest grapefruit you've ever eaten was dull, the juiciest orange was dry, and the most melting pear was hard and woody, and the sweetest wild strawberry was sour. And there were no seeds or stones or wasps. If you had once eaten that fruit, then all the nicest things in this world would taste like medicines after it."

Tabbies

Do you know why there are so many tabby cats? Well, it's because the tabby coat is a dominant marking! For example, If a black cat mates a tabby cat, then all the kittens will be tabbies! It's like people's brown eyes.

Cleo:Our (evil) Rabbit

Did you know that we have a rabbit? Well, we do, and her name is Cleopatra! (Cleo for short.) She's incredibly mean (she scratches, bites, and kicks) and she's really fat (even though we barely feed her anything.) Maybe it's because when she was a baby, and lived on our back porch, she ate so much! (Two ferns, an extention cord, a plastic placemat, ALL of the plastic off Poppy's tools, etc.) Well, now you can say you know about Cleopatra the (un)beautiful!

And for more (evil?) rabbit fun, read Bunnicula, by Deborah and James Howe

On my siblings' new adiction

Guess what? My siblings arn't always playing webkinz. What??? Yes, it's true. Why?
Because we got a wii-and Mario Karts.
Have you ever played Mario Karts? It really is a TON of fun! But they play it so much, that they've unlocked all the tracks, plus many characters.
Well, If you've played the game, there's a character poll over to the side!
(I like Birdo.)
And guess what I gave up for Lent?

A Saying and something else.

If you see a man without a smile, give him one of yours!

"A noble death is a great treasure, and something that no one is too poor to buy."
-Roonwit the centaur, Book 7 the Chronicles of Narnia
